The Maputaland Coastal Forest Reserve, KwaZulu-Natal includes about 42km (26 miles) of beach. This unspoiled region falls within the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, a World Heritage Site in South Africa.
Rocktail Beach Camp is built amongst the forested dunes and guests can access the beach after a good 20 minute walk. You’ll have the beach all to yourself and can enjoy diving on at least 15 reefs in exclusivity.
Guests can fly on scheduled carriers to either Durban or Richards Bay and then hire a 4x4 to drive to Rocktail Beach Camp.
Rocktail Beach Camp, northern KwaZulu-Natal
Rocktail Beach Camp can only be accessed with a 4x4 vehicle and is located between Sodwana Bay in the south and Kosi Bay in the north. If you have a 2x4 vehicle then lodge transfers can be arranged from a local rendezvous point at certain times in the day. A road transfer from Richards Bay could also be arranged.
